Located in Galicia, Spain, Pantin is an excellent beach break renowned for its powerful barrels. Home to an annual pro contest, this is one of the best and most popular spots on the Northern coast of Spain. The waves here can be challenging to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Pantin?
Gets good between waist-high and triple overhead. A longboard will work when smaller but a shortboard or step-up is the play when the size arrives. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is very consistent (8/10) and can get quite crowded, especially during the summer (8/10). The best winds are from the South. The best swells are from the North, Northwest, and West. Works on all tides but best at low to mid.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 19 degrees. In the winter a 4/3 is best when water temps drop to 13 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
