Located in South Algarve, Portugal, Praia da Rocha is a fun left jetty break that offers a hollow ride when the conditions line up. The waves here can be difficult to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a sand bottom. Located right in the tourist hot spot of Portimao, so be ready for crowds.
What are the best surf conditions for Praia da Rocha?
Gets good from waist-high to double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here if smaller and a shortboard when the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here does not break often (3/10) and will be very crowded when it does (8/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the South, Southeast, Southwest, and West. Works on all tides.
