Located in South Algarve, Portugal, Praia Castelejo is a good beach break that offers up some good barrels when the conditions line up. The waves here are not always easy to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a sand bottom. This spot is very exposed to the elements, and bad winds often tear it apart.

Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here if smaller or a shortboard when the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and can get busy at times (5/10). The best winds are from the East. The best swells are from the North, Northwest, Southwest, and West. Works on all tides.
