Located in Nayarit, Mexico, Sayulita is a great surf town that offers up some chill longboarding waves. The beach break in town is good and chill, as well as a right-hand reef that throws up mellow longboarders. The waves here are easy to surf and break for up to 100 meters (328 feet) over a rock and sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Sayulita?
Gets good between waist-high and overhead. We recommend riding a longboard if smaller and a shortboard if the size picks up. These breaks are good for all levels of surfers. The surf here usually has a wave (5/10) and will generally have a crew (6/10). The best winds are from the Southeast. The best swells are from the Southwest and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year-round. The water temperatures range from 31°C to 22°C (88°F to 72°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
