Located in Nayarit, Mexico, Punta Burros is a quality reef break that offers up some rippable rights and lefts, although the rights are much longer than the lefts. The waves here are challenging to surf and break for up to 200 meters (656 feet) over a rock bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Punta Burros?
Gets good between chest high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard if small and a shortboard then step up as the size picks up. This break is good for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will get busy at peak times (5/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the Southwest. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year-round. The water temperatures range from 31°C to 22°C (88°F to 72°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
