Located in Northern Baja, Mexico, Santo Tomas is a fun right-hand point break that offers up some rippable sections when the conditions line up. The waves here can be challenging to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a rocky bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Santo Tomas?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard if smaller or a shortboard or step-up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and gets crowded on weekends and holidays (5/10). The best winds are from the North. The best swells are from the Northwest, Southwest, South, or West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing board shorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 31 degrees. In the winter a 4/3 is best when water temperatures drop to 16 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
