Located in Los Cabos, Baja Mexico, Punta Arenas is an excellent left point break that offers up long barreling lines when the right swell arrives. The waves here are challenging to surf and break for up to 200 meters over a sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Punta Arenas?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard when smaller and a step up as the size picks up. This spot is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here does not break often (3/10) and won’t be too crowded when it does (4/10). The best winds are from the Northwest. This break needs a massive South to Southeast swell to break, think big cyclone. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing board shorts or a bikini year-round. Water temperatures range between 29 and 21 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
