Located in Los Cabos, Mexico, The Rock or La Roca is a fun reef setup that offers up a usually mellow but at times performance right-hander that peaks right next to a large rock. The waves here are straightforward to surf and break for up to 100 meters (328 feet) over a rock reef.
What are the best surf conditions for The Rock?
Gets good between waist-high and overhead. We recommend riding a longboard if smaller and a shortboard if the walls start standing up. The Rock is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here usually has something to ride (5/10) and will generally have a crew (7/10). The best winds are from the Northwest. The best swells are from the South and Southwest. Works on a mid to high tide best.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year-round. The water temperatures range from 29°C to 21°C (84°F to 70°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
