Located in Los Cabos, Baja, Zippers is an excellent right-hand point/reef setup that offers up “zippy” walls that throw up performance walls and barrels alike. The waves here offer an easy entry but quickly pick up as they peel down the rocky reef for up to 100 meters (328 feet). This is one of the best but also most popular waves in the Cabo area.
What are the best surf conditions for Zippers?
Gets good between waist-high and overhead. We recommend riding a longboard if small and a shortboard and then a step up as the size picks up. This break is good for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here usually has a wave (5/10) and will always have a crew (7/10). The best winds are from the Northwest and West. The best swells are from the South and Southwest. Doesn’t handle much size over about 8-foot faces. Works on a mid to high tide best.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year-round. The water temperatures range from 29°C to 21°C (84°F to 70°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
