Located in Los Cabos, Baja Mexico, Monuments is an excellent left-hand reef/point set-up that can serve up some perfect spinning barrels when the conditions line up. This can be a heavy spot, the waves break for up to 50 meters over an urchin-infested, shallow, boulder and sand-covered bottom. Take care.
What are the best surf conditions for Monuments?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard when smaller and a step up as the size steps up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is somewhat consistent (5/10) and generally will be uncrowded (4/10). The best winds are from the Northwest. The best swells are from the West, Southwest, or West. Works on a mid to high tide best.
We recommend wearing board shorts or a bikini year-round. Water temperatures rise to 29 in the summer and drop only to 21 in the summer. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
