Located in Guanacaste, Costa Rica, Nosara is a pretty big town that hosts a beach break with some fun rippable peaks. The waves here are pretty straightforward to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom. There are lots of spots to the North and South, Secret and otherwise.
What are the best surf conditions for Nosara?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard then step-up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and will get very crowded (8/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the Northwest, Southwest, and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing board shorts or a bikini year-round. Water temperatures range between 29 and 27. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
