Located in Guanacaste, Costa Rica, Playa Carillo is a fun reef break that offers up a powerful right-hander on most swells. The waves here are heavy and break for up to 100 meters over a rock bottom. This spot is at the entrance to a small bay, which holds some good beginner beach breaks.

What are the best surf conditions for Playa Carillo?

Gets good between chest high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard or your step-up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers.
