What are the best surf conditions for Broadbeach?
The beach gets good between waist high to double overhead, anything more and it will start to close out. A longboard will work great here, but bring a shortboard for the bigger days when it might get hollow. This beach can accommodate all levels of surfers. The surf here is super consistent (8/10) and can get ridiculously crowded when it’s on (9/10). The best winds are offshore from the East. Swells coming from the East, Northeast, and Southeast will all work but it likes a NE swell best. It will work on all tides, the lower the hollower.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year-round. The water temperature hits 27 degrees in February and drops only to 22 degrees in winter. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
