One of a group of powerful reef breaks for the more adventurous, found by walking south from Bateau Bay. 3 things to respect here the long walk back if you are injured, the locals and the resident white pointer (no joke) Crackneck is an excellent reef break breaking over a rock bottom. The waves here require your A-game and can break for up to 50 meters, serving up some powerful sections that demand respect. Gets good between waist-high to triple overhead. We recommend riding your standard shortboard here. Crackneck in Central Coast is best suited to intermediate to advanced surfers. The surf here is sometimes has a wave (4/10) and can get ridiculously crowded when it’s on (9/10). The best winds for Crackneck are West. The best swell direction is from the East, North and Northeast.
