More on Crackneck
This spot is called Crackneck for a reason. One of a group of powerful reef breaks for the more adventurous, found by walking south from Bateau Bay. 3 things to respect here the long walk back if you are injured, the locals and the resident white pointer (no joke) Crackneck is an excellent reef break breaking over a rock bottom. The waves here require your A-game and can break for up to 50 meters, serving up some powerful sections that demand respect. Watch the weather it can change from great surf to slop in the time it takes you to do the walk. There’s also a short shallow right-hander for the suicidal
Experts only, great crowded. Check the surf from the Hilltop St Lookout.
