Located in the Thaa and Laamu Atolls, Indian Ocean, Refugee’s Rights is an alright reef break that offers up a super fast (borderline closeout) right hander for those that want to chase down the sections. The waves here can be challenging and break for up to 50 meters over a coral reef.
What are the best surf conditions for Refugee’s Rights?
Gets good between waist high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard then step up as the size increases. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced level surfers. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and will be empty (1/10). The best winds are from the West. The best swells are from the South, Southeast, and Southwest. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year round as water temperatures range between 30 and 28. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
