Located in Mar del Plata, Argentina, Cabo Raso is a quality right-point break that offers up barreling waves when the conditions line up. The waves here are pretty heavy and break for up to 100 meters over a rock bottom. Usually only surfed in the summers due to water temps, but it’s not as cold as say, Norway, and people surf there.
What are the best surf conditions for Cabo Raso?
Gets good between chest high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard or a step-up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here usually has something to ride (5/10) and will generally be uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the West. The best swells are from the East. Works on a mid-tide best.
We recommend wearing a spring suit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 21 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best when water temperatures drop to 10 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
