Located in Mar del Plata, Argentina, La Paloma is an excellent right-hand reef set-up that offers up long barreling rights. The waves here are heavy and break for up to 200 meters over a rock reef. Access is tricky here, you’ll have to scale a cliff, but the waves are good and it keeps the crowds down.
What are the best surf conditions for La Paloma?
Gets good between head high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard and then step-up as the size increases. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will generally be uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the Northwest. The best swells are from the Southeast. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a spring suit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 21 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best when water temperatures drop to 10 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
