Located in Kadavu Passage, Fiji, Purple Wall is an excellent reef that offers up a thick right hand barrel when a long period swell swings through. The waves here are heavy and break for up to 50 meters over a shallow coral reef. This spot is pretty dangerous, take care.
What are the best surf conditions for Purple Wall?
Gets good between chest high and triple overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard then step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced level surfers. The surf here is somewhat consistent (6/10) and will generally be uncrowded (4/10). The best winds are from the North. The best swells are from the South, Southeast, and Southwest. Works on a mid to high tide best.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini all year. Water temperatures stick between 27 and 24. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
