Located in South Carolina, Edisto Beach is an OK beachie that breaks over a sand bottom. The waves here require a little bit of surf skill to surf well and break for up to 50 meters providing some fun sections for manoeuvres.
What are the best surf conditions for Edisto Beach?
Gets good between chest high to double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard when bigger. This break is perfect for all levels of surfers. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and it is easy to scroe uncrowded waves (4/10). The best winds are from the Northwest. The best swells are from the East, Northeast, and Southeast. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 29 degrees in August. In winter we recommend wearing a 3/2 wetsuit with temps dropping to 17 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
