Located in Palos Verdes, Los Angeles County, California, Sapphire Street is a fun jetty set-up that offers up some easygoing waves popular with beginners and longboarders. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Sapphire Street?
Gets good between waist-high and head-high. We recommend riding a longboard here almost always, and a shortboard on the rare bigger days. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here sometimes has a wave (4/10) and will get very crowded (8/10). The best winds are from the East. The best swells are from the Southwest. Works on a low to mid-tide best.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 19 degrees. In winter we recommend wearing a 4/3 when water temperatures drop to 14 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
