Located in Mendocino County, California, Chadbourne Gulch is a decent beach break that offers up some punchy and powerful waves when the conditions line up. The waves here require a bit of skill to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a sandy bottom. This spot enjoys smaller and cleaner swells.
What are the best surf conditions for Chadbourne Gulch?
Gets good between waist-high and overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf doesn’t always have a wave (4/10) and will be uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the East. The best swells are from the Northwest, Southwest, and West. Works on a mid-tide best.
