Located on the Outer Hebrides, Scotland, Mangersta is a good beach break that offers up some decent waves for manoeuvres when the conditions line up. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom. Exposed to any and all West wind, so don’t expect clean conditions often.
What are the best surf conditions for Mangeresta?
Gets good between waist-high and overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here if smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is somewhat consistent (4/10) and will generally be uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the East. The best swells are from the Northwest, Southwest, and West. Works on all tides but mid is best.
We recommend wearing a 4/3 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 14 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best when water temperatures drop to 9 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
