Located in Asturas, Tapia de Casareigo is a fun beach break that offers up some great sections for manoeuvres as well as a semi-permanent hollow left near a stream mouth. The waves here can be difficult to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Tapia de Casariego?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard when the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and is usually quite crowded (8/10). The best winds are from the South. The best swells are from the North, Northwest, and West. Works on a low to mid-tide best.
We recommend wearing a springsuit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 21 degrees. In the winter a 4/3 is best when water temperatures drop to 13 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
