Located in Asturias, Penarronda is a pretty good beach break that offers up good performance peaks when the conditions line up. The waves here are easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom. The bay is long, dispersing anyone that might be out.
What are the best surf conditions for Penarronda?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when the surf is smaller and a shortboard when the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here usually has a wave (5/10) and will never be crowded (3/10). The best winds are from the South. The best swells are from the North, Northwest, and West. Works best on a low to mid-tide.
We recommend wearing a springsuit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 21 degrees. In the winter a 4/3 is best when water temperatures drop to 13 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
