Located in Asturias, Spain, Playon de Bayas is a fun beach break that offers up good, powerful sections for carves and hacks. The waves here are pretty straightforward to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom. Good lefts near the jetty, but the whole beach is quite good.
What are the best surf conditions for Playon de Bayas?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard when the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer depending on the size. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and is generally uncrowded (4/10). The best winds are from the Southeast. The best swells are from the North, Northwest, and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a springsuit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 21 degrees. In the winter a 4/3 is best when water temperatures drop to 13 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
