Located in Beira, Litoral, Portugal, Buarcos is a fun right-hand point break that offers up long walls for honing manoeuvres. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 300 meters over a sand bottom. North winds don’t hurt it too much.
What are the best surf conditions for Buarcos?
Gets good between chest high to triple overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here if smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. This break is best suited to intermediate and advanced surfers. The surf here usually has a wave (5/10) and will usually have a crew on it as well (6/10). The best winds are from the East. The best swells are from the North, Northwest, Southwest, and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 18 degrees. In the winter a 4/3 is best when water temps drop to 13 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
