Located in La Côte Basque, France, Bidart is a fun beach break that offers some nice sections for maneuvers. The waves here are not always easy to surf and break over a rock and sand bottom for up to 50 meters (164 feet).
What are the best surf conditions for Bidart?
It gets good from waist-high to overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when the waves are smaller and a shortboard when the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfers. The surf here usually has a wave (5/10) and will generally be quite crowded (8/10). The best winds are from the southeast. The best swells are from the north, northwest, and west. It works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a spring suit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 21°C (70°F). In winter, a 5/4 wetsuit is the call when water temperatures drop to 12°C (54°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
