Located in North Grand Canaria, Bocabarranco is a below-average beach break that offers up some speedy walls when the conditions line up. The waves here are not easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a rock and sand bottom. Pollution is a big problem here, probably not worth it.
What are the best surf conditions for Bocabarranco?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard if smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will generally be empty (1/10). The best winds are from the South. The best swells are from the North, Northwest, and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a springsuit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 22 degrees. In the winter a 3/2 is best when water temperatures drop to 17. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
