Located in West Guerrero, Mexico, El Faro is a good series of pier and jetty breaks that offer up some thumping surf when the conditions line up. The waves here are challenging to surf and break for up to 50 meters (164 feet) over a sand bottom. This wave can get very powerful demanding respect on certain sections.
What are the best surf conditions for El Faro?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard and then a step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and will get busy at peak times (5/10). The best winds are from the North. The best swells are from the South, Southwest, and West. Works on all tides.
