Located on the Wild Coast of South Africa, Mzimpuni is a fun right-hand point break that offers up some fun walls in a beautiful bay. The waves here can be challenging at size and break for up to 200 meters (656 feet) over a rock and sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Mzimpuni?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard if smaller and a shortboard then step up as the size picks up. This break is good for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will generally be uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the Northwest. The best swells are big and from the South and Southeast. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in summer when water temperatures rise to 26°C (78.8°F). In the winter, a spring suit might be best as temps drop to about 21°C (69.8°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
