Located on the Wild Coast of South Africa, Mezeppa is not a bad beach break that offers up some rippable walls most days out of the year. The waves here can be challenging when bigger and break for up to 50 meters (164 feet) over a sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Mezeppa?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard if small and a shortboard then step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is consistent (8/10) and will generally be uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the Northwest. The best swells are from the South and Southeast. Works best on a low to mid-tide.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in summer when water temperatures rise to 26°C (78.8°F). In the winter, a spring suit might be best as temps drop to about 21°C (69.8°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
