Located in Central Morocco, a washed-up ship-boiler gives the break “Boilers” its name. This wave is an excellent right-hand point break that offers up vertical walls and barrels for both performance surfing and deep tubes. The waves here are heavy and break for up to 200 meters over a rock shelf covered with urchins. Experienced surfers here will use a keyhole to paddle out next to a large rock to the North.
What are the best surf conditions for Boilers?
Gets good between waist-high and triple overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard when a bit smaller and a step up as the waves get serious. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced surfers only. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will be very crowded always (9/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the North, Northwest, Southwest, and West. Works on a mid-tide best.
We recommend wearing a spring suit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 21 degrees. In the winter a 3/2 is best when water temperatures drop to 18 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
