Located in Northern Morocco, Mehdiya is a fun jetty break that throws a right-hander out, offering up some powerful and barreling sections. The waves here require some skill to surf and break for up to 100 meters (328 feet) over a sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Mehdiya?
Mehdiya gets good between chest high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard if small and a shortboard then step up as the size picks up. This break is good for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is not consistent (3/10) and will get crowded (7/10). The best winds are from the southeast. The best swells are from the Northwest. Works best on a mid to high tide.
We recommend wearing a springsuit in the summers when water temps rise to 21°C (69.8°F). In the winters, a 3/2 is best as water temps drop to 18°C (64.4°F). See our temperature chart below for more data on this.
