Located in Northern Morocco, Rabat is a town with a few breaks, one of which is a river mouth called Bergama. This break is a left river mouth wave that provides good performance sections. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a sand bottom. Watch out for pollution.
What are the best surf conditions for Rabat?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here if smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfers. The surf here usually has a wave (5/10) and will be quite crowded (8/10). The best winds are from the Southeast. The best swells are from the North, Northwest, and West. Works on a low tide best.
We recommend wearing a spring suit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 21 degrees. In the winter a 3/2 is best when water temperatures only drop to 18 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
