Located on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii, Himalayas is a quality reef break that offers up some dangerous, big, barreling sections. This spot should really only be reserved for the most confident watermen. There is a massive rip going right through the channel into the peak, making it almost impossible to get into the wave without a tow. The left breaks for up to 100 meters over a rocky reef.
What are the best surf conditions for Himalayas?
Gets good at around tow in height (massive). We recommend riding a gun if you must paddle and a tow board for the slightly more sane. This break is suitable only for advanced surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will be uncrowded (2/10). The best winds are from the Northwest. The best swells are from the East. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing board shorts or a bikini year round as water temperatures range between 27 ad 24. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
