Located in Mar del Plata, Argentina, Cabo Corrientes is a once classic right point that now needs precise conditions to start working. The waves here require a bit of skill to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a sand bottom. There is a beach break on the inside that is good for beginners.
What are the best surf conditions for Cabo Corrientes?
Gets good between chest high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here does not break often (3/10) and will generally have a crew (7/10). The best winds are from the Northwest. The best swells are from the South and Southeast. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a spring suit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 21 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best when water temperatures drop to 10 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
