Located in Mar del Plata, Argentina, La Pepita is an excellent series of jetty breaks that lend themselves to tubey right-handers. The waves here require some skill to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for La Pepita?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard and then a step-up as the size increases. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will get quite crowded (8/10). The best winds are from the West. The best swells are from the East, South, and Southeast. Works on a low to mid-tide best.
We recommend wearing a spring suit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 21 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best when water temperatures drop to 10 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
