Located in Asturias, Spain, San Lorenzo is a beach break that offers up fun sections for manoeuvres when the conditions line up. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom. San Lorenzo is found directly in the city of Gijon, therefore it picks up both crowds as well as urban pollution. However, there are also many hotels, bars, and dining options nearby.
What are the best surf conditions for San Lorenzo?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard when the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here usually has a wave (5/10) and is often crowded (8/10). The best winds are from the South. The best swells are from the North, Northwest, and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a springsuit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 21 degrees. In winter a 4/3 is best when water temperatures drop to 13 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
