Located in Costa Verde, Peru, Villa is a fun beach break that offers up hollow and punchy waves, especially good on smaller swells. The waves here are challenging to surf and break for up to 50 meters (about 164 feet) over a sand bottom. When bigger, currents, paddle outs, and closeouts can pose difficulties.
What are the best surf conditions for Villa?
Villa gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard and then a step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and will get busy at peak times (5/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the Northwest, Southwest, South, and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a spring suit in the summers when water temperatures rise to 22°C (about 72°F). In the winter, a 3/2 wetsuit is best when water temperatures drop to 16°C (about 61°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
