Located in Pernambuco, Brazil, Galinhas is a fun series of both left and right reef breaks that offer up barrels when the conditions line up. The waves here require some skill to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a rock bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Galinhas?
Gets good between chest-high and triple overhead. We recommend riding a longboard if smaller and a shortboard then step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will get busy at peak times (5/10). The best winds are from the West. The best swells are from the Southeast. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts and a bikini year-round as water temperatures range between 29°C (84°F) and 26°C (79°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
