Located in Mar del Plata, Argentina, Pinamar is a quality beach break that offers up good, rippable surf when the conditions line up. The waves here require some skill to surf and break for up to 150 meters (492 feet) over a sand bottom. It can get very good, but strong currents are rough.
What are the best surf conditions for Pinamar?
Pinamar gets good between head-high and triple overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard then step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will generally be uncrowded (4/10). The best winds are from the Northwest. The best swells are from the East, Northeast, and Southeast. It works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a spring suit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 21°C (70°F). In the winter, a 5/4 wetsuit is best when water temperatures drop to 10°C (50°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
