More on Cape lookout

Located in Northern Oregon, Cape Lookout is an excellent reef setup that breaks over a rock bottom. The waves here are straightforward to surf and break for up to 150 meters, providing some great barrels on offer. The hike-in is long, and there is no cell service. Be prepared!

What are the best surf conditions for Cape Lookout?

Gets good from head high to triple overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard here. Cape Lookout is best suited to intermediate and advanced surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (7/10) and always pretty much empty (2/10). The best winds come from the East. The best swells come from the South, Southwest, and West. Works best on low and mid tides.

We recommend wearing a 4/3 wetsuit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 14 degrees. In More...
