Located in San Mateo County, California, Gazos Creek is a fun beach break that offers up some A-frame peaks when the conditions line up. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a sand and rock bottom. Don’t expect to get it good, doesn’t happen often. It’s very common to see fins in the water, this spot is notorious and most will not surf alone here.
What are the best surf conditions for Gazos Creek?
Gets good between chest high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard when bigger. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is not consistent (2/10) and will never be crowded (3/10). The best swells are from the Southwest or West. The best winds are from the East. Works on a mid to high tide best.
We recommend wearing a 4/3 year-round here. Water temperatures range from 12 to 15. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
