Located in Central Java, Indonesia, Bondo Kodi is an excellent river mouth setup that offers up a wonderful left-hander that barrels hard when on. The waves here get heavy and break for up to 200 meters over a reef and sand bottom. There is also a right-hander on the other side, but it is nowhere near as good or consistent.
What are the best surf conditions for Bondo Kodi?
Gets good between chest high and triple overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard here or a step-up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced level surfers. The surf here is somewhat consistent (6/10) and usually uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the North. The best swells are from the South. Works on a mid to high tide best.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year-round. The water temperatures rise to 29 in the summer and drop to 25 in the winter. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
