Located in the Bukit Peninsula, Bali, Indonesia, Balangan is a quality left hand reef break that offers up speedy sections as well as the occasional barrel. The waves here can be challenging to surf and break for up to 200 meters over a coral reef. Balangan is also a beautiful destination. The beach has a bunch of warungs perfect for relaxing, good vibes are the norm here. There are two sections to the wave, one right at the point and one about halfway down the wave. They connect on overhead swells.
What are the best surf conditions for Balangan?
Gets good between chest high and triple overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard then step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and will usually have a crew (6/10). The best winds are from the South or Southeast. The best swells are from the South and Southwest. Works best on a low to mid tide.
