Located in Pembrokeshire, Wales, Tenby South Beach is a fun beach break that offers up some decent waves and barrels when the conditions line up. The waves here are straightforward to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom. Needs a big swell to turn on, winter spot only.
What are the best surf conditions for Tenby South Beach?
Gets good between waist high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here doesn’t break too often (4/10) and will be crowded when it does (7/10). The best winds are from the Northwest. The best swells are from the South, Southwest, and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 16 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best when water temperatures drop to 8 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
