Located in Pembrokeshire, Wales, Newgale is a good Beach break breaking over a sand bottom. The waves here are easy to surf and can break for up to 100 meters, providing fun sections for manoeuvres. As you come over the hill Newgale can look very enticing, especially at size, beware though as this is a very gently sloping beach meaning the lines can literally stack up for miles and so can the white water! Very hard to get out the back over 4 feet. Making it almost impossible to surf at double overhead if its bigger (head to Whitesands where there are rips to get out). Has a tendency to close out on lower tides but keep an eye on the right-hand point break to the North which is only accessible when the tide goes out enough to walk around. Can get very good with the right sand and swell. Newgale is a good gauge for swell in this area. Generally gets the most swell for this part of the coast, Beaches to the south in the bay are usually smaller (getting smaller the further south you go), It’s also generally half a foot to a foot bigger than Whitesnads.
