Located in Northern Baja, Mexico, Rosarito Beach is a decent beach break that offers up a couple of sandbanks as well as a pier that holds together some sandbars. The waves here are easy to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a sandy bottom. Check around for some sandy reefs up and down the beach as well.
What are the best surf conditions for Rosarito Beach?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard if smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and will get busy at peak times (5/10). The best winds are from the East. The best swells are from the Northwest, Southwest, and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing board shorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 31 degrees. In the winter a 4/3 is best when water temperatures drop to 16 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
