Found in Queensland, Australia, Long Track is a fun beach break that crashes over a sandy bottom. The waves here are a bit stronger than those to the north, but provide excellent sections for manoeuvres.
What are the best surf conditions for Long Track?
This spot gets good between waist high and triple overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard here, especially when bigger. Long Track can accommodate all levels of surfers, depending of course on the size. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and also normally has a local crew on it (6/10), The best winds are offshore from the Southwest, it works best on a low-medium tide, and the best swells come from the East, Northeast, or Southeast.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer with the warmest water temp hitting 25 degrees in January. In winter a spring suit is best as water temperatures drop to about 19 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
